International Students Union at the University of Bergen (ISU-UiB) will not concede to the allegations made against ISU-UiB and ISU-Norway. However, with respect to the right of expressions and opinion we will give clarification in the following statement. It is important to note that ISU-UiB is an independent local branch of ISU-Norway, therefore it is the responsibility of the local board to ensure that the principles of the constitution as well as the representation of the branch are carried on and accomplished.

Regarding the question of General Assembly brought up in the allegations we would like to inform the readers that ISU-UiB stopped organizing the General Assemblies as such, for the sole reason that it had become unproductive event which solicited no interest. Such decision was made after a consensus which was not only lawfully but also necessary for ISU-UiB to regain its seriousness.

However, any people who are active in and outside ISU-UiB would know that our weekly events (movie nights) as well as monthly events (breakfast) have always been events during which we inform our members not only about ongoing events but also we give the platform to our members to exchange with us and discuss any matter they think is relevant.

Lastly, members of ISU-UiB as well as board members and any person who shows any interest in ISU and the constitution would know that ISU is a multilateral and pluri-disciplinary democratic organization. ISU-UiB although a local independent branch, remains liable for activities and development reports, the Union Development Officer runs audits on each and every local ISU branch in Norway, where the management and activities as well as the general works are evaluated.

ISU-UiB will no longer receive or address such allegations, however should there be genuine concerns or questions our board members will always and have always been happy to receive them. Please do not hesitate to go on ISU website to read more about the constitution of the local and national branch as well as any update on local branch and national board.
